In this technology driven world that we live in, almost all businesses use technology in some way or another to assist them in their day-to-day functioning. But is this technology being utilized to its full potential? Could it be improved or leveraged in some other manner so as to improve efficiencies? Have the proper standards been followed? Will the technology be scalable and robust enough to meet future expansion plans? These are some of the questions that plague business owners.
We, at Icreon Consulting Services can help you answer these questions and any other technology concerns that you may have. We offer our services as independent auditors – carrying out extensive technology audits that will guide you and ensure that you are on the right technology path. Such an audit can add tremendous value to your business as not only will it provide a comprehensive overview and analysis of the current state of technology but it will also help in identifying key strengths and gaps. Working closely with you, our consultants will ensure that every aspect of your business requirements are carefully mapped to eventual outcomes, thereby ensuring that gaps between business vision and actual implementation are absolutely filled.
We are well aware of the fact that technology inefficiencies can compromise the success of any business. Through our technology audit not only will we help you in identifying and removing such inefficiencies that may exist but will also come up with innovative solutions that will provide you with an edge over your competitors.
In performing a technology audit, our team will:
- Evaluate the current technology that is being used and its alignment to your business objectives
- Identify security vulnerabilities both hardware and software
- Develop a high level technology architecture that is suited to both short term and long terms goals of the organization.
- Study and trace the gaps in Software Development Lifecycle and ensure optimal coding
- Evaluate the capacity of your organization to integrate new technologies
- Work with your technological partners and better define what they need to successfully integrate these technologies into the company
- Ensure that all software is well documented thereby reducing dependencies on third-party vendors
- Identify the scalability of the current technology
Methodology
At Icreon, we understand the fact that no two businesses are alike and the scope of a technology audit can greatly vary based on the nature, size and the environment that the business operates under. However at a broad level the approach that we take in conducting an audit, include the following steps:

Discovery: The objective of the Discovery Stage is to confirm the project scope, get a high level overview of the business and its operating environment, analyze the status of technology, understand the linkages with other businesses and technology suppliers, agree on expected deliverables. An initial discovery report is presented to stake holders so that focus areas for the audit can be identified for in-depth analysis.
Current State Analysis: The objective of this stage of the technology audit is to build an exhaustive understanding of the current state processes. These will be mapped to enable the understanding of the issues, value drivers and opportunities that exist in the IT environment.
Future State Improvements: The intention of this stage of the audit is to explore the technology environment keeping in mind the future requirements of the organization. This insight will help the business to look at its current IT capabilities and isolate those that will need to be improved or built to achieve the desired strategic goals for the way forward.
Prepare for Implementation: The final stage of the technology audit involves presenting the key recommendations from Stage 3 as a detailed Action Plan to the stakeholders.

Our Clientele
The following are some selected our clients that are plotted against knowledge and experience characteristics to illustrate the widespread capabilities we have built in house.
Below is a demonstration of the technology performance audit that our team conducted for Maxill.
Maxill is a Canada based company that supplies dental and other medical products directly to customers. Maxill was using various disparate desktop applications to manage their business processes and day-to-day functioning. Their organization structure and systems were creating dependencies on the CTO who was in complete control of the network, the software and projects contracted to other IT vendors. The CTO had limited knowledge and was using dated technologies. The reliance on the CTO was causing process bottlenecks, technical complexities and constant delays.
The Icreon team interacted closely with the CEO of Maxill to gather requirements and gain understanding of the business processes. This required the complete IT of the organization to be analyzed and reorganized. The physical network was made much more secure by examination and being revamped with the use of new hardware, software, routers, firewalls, a vigorous backup policy and following best practice. Further analysis revealed the need for integration of several fragmented applications and exposed gaps in some of the scripts which then needed to be rewritten. Customized CRM was written and gradually introduced into the organization to encourage the receptiveness and acceptance of change.
We conducted this comprehensive technology audit for Maxill over three years ago, and since, the client relationship has evolved to an exclusive IT partnership. Icreon is currently working on Phase 2 of the project implementation, enabling the operation and integration of a parallel printing business for the owner of Maxill, as well as assisting with international growth; bridging the home office in Canada with the new offices in Hong Kong.
