European Waterways – Europe’s largest luxury barging company, operate a fleet of hotel barges that cruise rivers and canals across Europe. Go Barging, a subsidiary of European Waterways, aims to offer guests the opportunity to explore the countryside and local culture and history.
Without an automated system in place, Go Barging was finding it difficult to track inventory and barge itineraries. With data being maintained manually, the risk of double-booking and last-minute scheduling glitches were high. Go Barging was looking to build a system that would help increase efficiency and streamline their processes.
Icreon designed and developed the web-based back-office system that provides Go Barging with the tools necessary to simplify operations and ensure smooth functioning of their business.
Schedules and detailed itineraries can be made for individual barges in the fleet. Real-time availability calendars and reservation charts allow for tracking of the schedules in real-time enabling stake-holders to know the state of business. Passenger information can be recorded allowing for more personalized attention to be given, helping build a loyal customer base.
Reports and dashboards have been built allowing for Go Barging to track and analyse the performance of their fleet.
